Dr Kees Seldenrijk, pathologist (Nieuwegein)
“The collaboration within Pathology-DNA enables us to optimally use new possibilities offered by groundbreaking innovations, such as digital pathology, next-gen sequencing, and artificial intelligence for high-quality and effective diagnosing".
The merger to become the Netherlands' largest (superregional) Pathology partnership offers opportunities for further subspecialisation, which will significantly benefit patient care.
Kees Seldenrijk (1957) did his training at the Westeinde Hospital in The Hague and the VUmc in Amsterdam, after which he worked as head of the Pathology department and Pathology trainer at SSDZ Delft for five years. Since 1995 he has been working at the Pathology partnership in the St. Antonius Hospital Utrecht/Nieuwegein, where he had the role of medical manager for about ten years. As a trainer, he also contributed to Pathology training for a period of about fifteen years. As a member of the steering committee and board member of the partnership, he hopes to give direction to the further development of the partnership that merged on 14 March 2013. Kees Seldenrijk earned his PhD in 1991 researching 'idiopathic chronic inflammatory bowel disease: aetiological, immunological and histopathological aspects'.
