Jan Willem Leeuwis studied Medicine at Utrecht University (2006). This was followed by PhD research into profibrotic and antifibrotic factors in the development of chronic kidney damage at the Pathology department of UMC Utrecht. He then studied Pathology at UMC Utrecht and the St. Antonius Hospital. After graduating, he has been working at Pathology-DNA since 2016.
