After studying medicine at the VU University Amsterdam, Max Boot worked as an ANIOS (the Dutch equivalent of a senior house officer) in the emergency department at the UMC Utrecht for a year and a half. In 2015 he started his training as a pathologist at the VUmc in Amsterdam. During his training, he continued to study dermatopathology and hematopathology while researching pitfalls in diagnosing classical Hodgkin lymphoma.
