Peter de Bruin finished his training in Pathology at the VUmc in 1999. Afterwards, he worked as a pathologist at the Medical Center Alkmaar for 2 years. In 2001 he continued his career at the St. Antonius hospital Utrecht/Nieuwegein. Apart from his fields of interest he specifically invests in improvements of the quality of diagnostics, patient security and innovation of laboratory techniques. In 1994 Peter de Bruin defended his thesis on T-cell non Hodgkin lymphomas with honor (cum laude) at the Vrije Universiteit in Amsterdam. Peter de Bruin is chairman of the Board of Pathology-DNA B.V.
