Mrs. Anya Milne MD PhD, pathologist St. Antonius (Nieuwegein) 

"Reliable pathological diagnosis is necessary for proper treatment"

Mrs. Anya Milne (1974) studied medicine at Trinity College Dublin, where she graduated in molecular pathology with a grant from the National Health Research Board in 1997, then graduated cum laude for her physician's exam in 2000. In 2001, Anya started as a pathologist in Dublin and then she has done 4 years of PhD research on molecular pathways in gastric cancer at AMC Amsterdam. She received the George Tiniakos award for her research. In 2004 she obtained the USMLE / ECFMG certificate. From 2006 to 2011 Anya worked in the UMCU where she continued her research as co-promoter. Her interest in gastroenterology has led to many publications and presentations at conferences.


In 2012, Anya was appointed Fellow of the Royal College of Pathologists (FRCPath) by obtaining an international pathology exam. Anya has been working at the Diakonessenhuis since 2012 and has joined Pathology DNA since 2018.
