Marc Ooft completed his training as a pathologist and PhD in nasopharyngeal cancer at the University Medical Centre Utrecht. After his studies, he started as a pathologist/fellow at the Amsterdam Academic Medical Centre, where he focused on head and neck pathology and gained experience in gastrointestinal pathology, lung pathology, cytology and the associated molecular diagnostics.
He then worked in London for two and a half years at King's College Hospital as Head of Department, Head of Molecular Pathology and Pathology Coordinator for the public colorectal cancer screening programme. He was also pathology lead here for the King's neuroendocrine tumour unit which is a Centre of Excellence for the European NET Society.
Marc Ooft has been part of Pathology-DNA since 1 August 2021.
